My
Recently, we were informed that my cat, Moria was a boy. We have now renamed him Viggo and he seems much happier.

On the Window Sill
By
Eowyn
Up on the windowsill, the light was shining and the spiders were sleeping. May was watching the spiders. She loved spiders because she thought they were so quiet and shy. The spiders liked May because she did not daftly poke or scream at them like so many little girls did. The spiders laughed because she thought they were quiet creatures. Anxiously, the spiders waited. As little May grew older, she stayed up later and the spiders, who had to wait longer for her to go to sleep, had less time to party. Yearning for darkness like a child yearns for sugar, the spiders counted humans to try to go to sleep. The light on the windowsill made the spiders feel drowsy and they drifted off to sleep.
Beep. Beep. Beep. It was the spider’s alarm clock. It read ten thirty. “Wake up! Wake up everybody! Let’s get the party going!” cried the spider who was the one to get all the partiers up. Rubbing their eight eyes, about ten spiders crawled out of their webs and went into little holes that only spider eyes could see. They came back dressed in elaborate tuxedoes and prom dresses. Several spiders came out with saxophones and trumpets and one slowly hauled out a piano on wheels. Soon the party was in full swing. Surprisingly, they had even made their own little disco light. While little may snoozed, the spiders played along to her snoring with some jazz. Into the night the spiders partied away like true party animals, but when the dawn came they hid their clothes and instruments and went back to web. Beep. Beep. Beep. it was the bedtime alarm.
The spiders who were still all giggly from their wild night, settled down in bed. They watched May lay in bed and get yelled at by her mother about getting up, since it was a school day. She groaned and tumbled onto the floor. As she got dressed she thought about the strange dream she had. In it, the spiders on her windowsill dressed up like humans and partied. “How odd!” she said to herself. Wondering if it was true like some fairy tale, she looked at the spider, but dismissed the thought and went down to breakfast. Pancakes were her favorite. What would have little May thought if she knew what her spiders did at night? Sleepily, a spider snapped up a fly. On the windowsill, the spiders giggled and smiled.
These are some of the photos I took in our backyard with my new camera.

I like knights and here is one of the writings I did on knight-hood.
The Knights of England
Knights were very important in medieval England. They were not only the king’s soldiers; they were landlords, and policemen. It took a long time to become a knight you had to spent about five years as a page, leaning about knights, serving at feasts, cleaning dishes, and practicing horse riding of wooden horses. After that you became a squire, where you were assigned to a specific knight to help him put on and take off his armor. You would also learn about the code of chivalry, how to dance and be courteous to ladies. Finally when you were about eighteen or older, your lord would hold a big ceremony to knight you. First you would spend the night in the church chapel praying that you would be a good knight. The next morning you would have a freezing cold bath. After you dressed, you go to the lord of the castle where he would tap you with the flat of his blade on the shoulder, and give you your sword and spurs. As a knight you would get land from the king in return for fighting for him. You use the land and the peasants that come along with it to farm. The peasants will give you a part of their crop, but in return you give them protection. As a knight it is your duty to fight for the king and the church, defend the poor and weak, be gentle to women, and fight and punish the knights who don’t obey the code. When there were no wars to fight, knights would spend their time holding jousting tournaments, and giving feasts. I would like to be a knight because knights got horses and swords!
