Spring Poetry

We had a writing contest in our home school group, these are our entries.

Seashore Thoughts
Eowyn

O how I'd like to be,
A pirate sailing on the sea,
To guzzle rum while chewing gum,
that would be the life for me.

I can just envision,
My brother on the plank,
With no one near by,
To give me a spank.

To dress as I want,
With funky gold bangles,
a crimson skirt,
blue hair in big tangles.

I'd stay up late,
Surfing the web,
E-mailing my mom,
Saying I'm in bed.

So here I am by the shore,
Hoping some pirates will come,
Because if they do come sailing in,
One of them I will become.

The Tree
Nummy

I'm brown and tall
My leaves fall
When the season is Autumn

Under me the grass grows green
With it flowers sit
And that is where the fairies are seen

This is where I am happy
In the forest gay
For I am a tree
And here shall I stay

Tiny Boots
Jane

Tiny boots
hammer the puddle
in unison

tink, tink, tink
water splashes
toes are wet

jump splash
jump splash
boots fill with water
mother sighs
and smiles
